Churchill donates $63,000 to Haiti earthquake victims

Corporate Donation, Employee Donations and Matched Funds

CALGARY, Feb. 12 /CNW/ - In the wake of the recent devastation in Haiti, employees of The Churchill Corporation ("Churchill") and its subsidiaries at Stuart Olson, Laird Electric, Insulation Holdings, Fuller Austin and Northern Industrial Insulation Contractors have donated $63,160 to the victims of the Haiti earthquake.

The Churchill Corporation made a contribution to the Canadian Red Cross in the amount of $44,080 consisting of a $25,000 corporate donation and $19,080 in funds to match equivalent contributions made by employees and directors during the past 30 days. With the Canadian government matching individual donations, the total donation directed to relief agencies will be $82,240. The Canadian Red Cross is on the ground supporting evacuation activities and providing shelter, clean water and medical support to the people of Haiti.

He further stated "We believe that every effort both large and small must be made to alleviate the suffering of those in Haiti. In 2009, Churchill and its employees donated time, personal service and financial support to more than 60 organizations and reinvested more than $225,000 to improve the communities and environment in which we operate.
